World Blood Donor Day

Every year, Trauma Care International Foundation (TCIF), a member agency of the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI) mobilizes many people around the world to volunteer to donate blood in commemoration of the World Blood Donor Day, contributing to the availability of safe blood across the globe.  Voluntary blood donors from various different communities have participated throughout the years. This year’s campaign promises to have a greater impact as the foundation kicks off it’s 90-day campaign for voluntary blood donation, through it’s ever expanding network around the world. TCIF continues to contribute meaningfully through it’s significant programs and initiatives, to alleviate the challenges of emergency response in nations where the need is greatest.

 

Trauma Care International Foundation

 

Trauma Care International Foundation is a registered non-governmental organization whose mission it is to improve the delivery of trauma care and emergency response services through advocacy and community-based initiatives that improve health education.  Through its advocacy work and awareness campaigns, Trauma Care International hopes to influence the development of comprehensive national policies regarding trauma and trauma response. The foundation supports and promotes government programs and planning on regional trauma network system in Nigeria and the establishment of a trauma audit network system at the national, state and local government levels. The foundation sponsors educational programs to help people to deliver proper first aid procedures during a medical emergency.

90 Day Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign

 

The world needs more people who could donate blood, especially in these uncertain times. Time and again, the Ministry Of Health and Family Welfare has been urging people to donate blood during the coronavirus outbreak. Various guidelines were designed for social distancing, masks, sanitisation processes so that people can come forward to donate blood even during the pandemic. TCIF advocates for Safe Voluntary Blood Donation In commemoration of the 2020 World Blood Donor Day which is celebrated annually on the 14th of June, the Trauma Care  International Foundation launched it’s 90 day campaign to increase the availability of safe blood globally through her worldwide network of voluntary blood donors.  ”It’s 90 days of saving lives in several locations across the globe” . Right there in your country, as an individual or as a group you can donate blood and encourage others to do the same from now till the month of August at blood donation centers in your country as a part of this campaign. Your blood can save a life, O negative blood type is the universal red blood cell donor because their red blood cells can be transfused into any patient, regardless of blood type.
