Tuesday saw a great day in the history of trauma management in Nigeria and in Africa as a whole, as the ground breaking ceremony of the Loveworld Medical Centre Aseese took place in the Loveworld Crusade Grounds, where construction is due to begin.

 

The Chairman of this auspicious event; the Highly Esteemed Reverend Tom Amenkhienan, member of the Central Executive Council of the Loveworld Nation expressed profound gratitude to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome for the vision of the LoveWorld Medical Center, and expressed that the hospital will contribute significantly to the care of critically ill patients, and it will also mark a new beginning in trauma and emergency care in Nigeria. “Injuries are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in both developing and developed countries. About 5.8 million people die each year as a result of injuries, overall, injuries are estimated to be the third most common cause of death globally,” he said.

 

Esteemed CEO of Loveworld Incorporated and the Director of the Loveworld Medical Missions & Services; Pastor Dr Deola Phillips delivered words of gratitude.

 

Trauma Care International Foundation

 

The Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI)is also proud to sponsor the dedicated work of the Trauma Care International Foundation (TCIF) and their efforts to improve emergency response and trauma care in Nigeria. TCIF is a registered NGO with the mandate to improve the state of trauma care and emergency response services through health education, advocacy and community-based programs.

 

TCIF is focused on improving the health status and life expectancy of individuals by promoting improvements in pre-hospital facility-based trauma care, providing support for national policies on trauma care and increasing local awareness on proper emergency response.  It offers appropriate pre-hospital care provided by trained bystanders and the early arrival of emergency medical personnel helps to improve the outcomes of traumatic injuries significantly. There is also a program designed to strengthen health care systems in our host communities while contributing to the achievement of universal health coverage by providing health care facilities, equipment, technical support and capacity building in selected communities.

In honor of it’s commitment to global health and well-being, LoveWorld Medical Missions, an active Member Agency of the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International held the ground breaking ceremony of the Loveworld Medical Centre at the Loveworld Crusade Grounds, Lagos, Nigeria. The epoch-making event had in attendance Highly Esteemed Members of the Central Executive Council including the Esteemed CEO, Pastor Dr. Deola Phillips. Eminent dignitaries that graced this occasion were members of the Central Executive Council of the Loveworld Nation; members of the TCIF Board; the representative of the Ogun State Commissioner for Health; Dr Kudus, Dr Adelakun H; Director Ogun State Ambulance and Emergency Services ably representing the Permanent Secretary Ogun State Ministry of Health, the Baale of Aseese and executives of the Community Development Council, media practitioners and other distinguished guests. The opening prayer at the Loveworld Medical Centre Aseese ground- breaking ceremony was said by the Highly Esteemed Reverend Ray Okocha, member of the Central Executive Council of the Loveworld Nation.
