Volunteer Medical Corps (VMC), also known as the International LoveWorld Volunteer Medical Community Network, is an ever-expanding global network of Christian health care workers, non-medical volunteers, and students committed to providing medical care through outreaches, humanitarian assistance, and sustainable health care solutions in regions of crisis and to communities in dire need.

The Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI) is proud to sponsor the dedicated work of the VMC and their efforts to improve emergency response and trauma care, the foundation aspires to improve the health and life expectancy of individuals, local communities, and nations by promoting improved health care, supporting national policies and creating a healthier, safer and more positive world by making sure that every life counts. Founded in 2016 in Lagos, Nigeria, the Christian outreach provides humanitarian assistance. Through the partnership of these organizations, more people in need are able to receive the medical aid they desperately deserve. Success Stories

The definition of a successful and meaningful act is leaving the world around you better than you found it. Through their voluntary blood donation drive; organized in partnership with Trauma Care International Foundation, the VMC Maiduguri Chapter have once again displayed their commitment to saving lives every day, one good deed at a time. We offer thanks and gratitude to those volunteers for making safe blood available to children with chronic anemic conditions, trauma victims, and those scheduled for surgeries.

Blood Donation saves lives and as Christian medics and volunteers, members of the VMC are committed to working with Trauma Care International Foundation, another partner of COFI, to ensure safe blood for transfusion is available in every nation. Trauma Care International Foundation is a registered non-governmental organization focused on improving trauma care and emergency response services through advocacy, health education, and community-based projects.

VMC Verulam South Africa is committed to addressing community public health needs while producing lasting change through improved access to medical services, health education, nutritional support for beneficiaries, and ministration of the word of God. This has proven to be a very inspiring chapter.

In spite of the restrictions in their city, members of the Volunteer Medical Corps Edendale Chapter, Durban Group South Africa carried out a special community outreach to a vulnerable group; the Association of Physically Challenged Persons in Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg. This outing resulted in 14 souls being won to Christ and many bore witness of improved health through their testimonies.

Giving Thanks to the Volunteers

At the end of last month, the 26th of July, we celebrated our wonderful volunteers with heartfelt acknowledgment. We are grateful to our exceptional volunteers in VMC for their dedication to caring for the sick and those in need. Thank you for providing a wide range of much-needed medical services to those from adopted communities including access to specialist care and health education. Thank you for extending the love and the Gospel of our Lord Jesus to all those present and working with us.

It is written in the Bible in Hebrews 13:16 (KJV): “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” One way to demonstrate our love for the Lord Jesus Christ is to be caring and compassionate towards those in need within our sphere of contact.  Sign up here for the VMC’s Good Deeds Campaign and make a difference in the life of someone who needs you.
