The COVID-19 pandemic was completely unprecedented, unpredicted and the socio-economic impact was devastating.

Throughout the month of February, we will be showing you simple ways you can make a real impact in your country and in your everyday life through the ‘Acts of Love’ campaign. These acts of love have the capacity to change lives forever, All through the month of February, we will be stirring the hearts of people all around the world to look beyond their friends and loved ones, and show love to indigent children through the ‘Acts of Love’ campaign. We have put together a practical to-do-list of various acts of love you can carry out in and throughout February.

Acts of Love Come in Many Forms

The message of love that delivers hope to so many children comes in many forms. The Inner-City Mission For Children delivers parcels of love on a regular basis. The InnerCity Mission for Children is part of the humanitarian network that has been brought to fruition by the founder of Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI), Chris Oyakhilome himself.

This February InnerCity Mission for Children is running a campaign to increase the love sent to indigent children in your neighborhood and beyond. These ‘acts of love’ have the capacity to change lives forever, so join us throughout this year to make a lasting impact.

What is an Act of Love?

To a hungry child receiving food, and nutritious meals and supplements are an act of love. One act of love is to donate groceries to the Inner-City Mission Food Bank. The foodbank receives a variety of food supplies every year for distribution. ICM is working tirelessly towards the ‘Global Goal for Sustainable Development and the ‘Zero Hunger’ objective of the United Nations. The aim is to distribute 100 million meals to children and families who need it the most around the world. It is heart-wrenching that poor and low-income families face food insecurity daily as they have no reliable access to affordable, nutritious food, which often leads to hungry nights for their children.

Education is a Basic Right

Education is the right of every child and key to sustainable development. It offers children a ladder out of poverty and a path to a better future. We are so excited that already over 1500 children have returned to their classrooms as the InnerCity Mission network of schools resumes for the new school term. We thank our volunteers, sponsors, and partners for their continued support which guarantees the children access to complete their primary education for free. However, there are still many children who are yet to resume school, help us reach them and enable them to return to school with the right tools for success. It would be a great act of love to organize a school kit drive in your community and donate to any of the InnerCity Mission for Children campaigns that work towards educating and empowering the children.

Access to Medical Attention

In many communities, there is limited infrastructure and another act of love would be to give the community access to medical care, information, and services. Every year millions of young children die from diseases that can be prevented by early medical checkups. Unfortunately, this is mostly inaccessible for indigent children.  In this season of love, you can help organize medical services to be delivered to those who need them most.
